A Lingering Shadow

When everything came to a stop, art became the only way to hold on. 
Illness is often avoided. It unsettles, isolates, and leaves those who experience it alone. Some illnesses become disabilities, sometimes visible, often invisible. Long Covid and Myalgic Encephalomyelitis have deeply changed my daily life, bringing extreme fatigue, pain, silence, and invisibility. A real disability, yet one that remains unseen. As a photographer, after years of telling other people’s stories, I turned the camera toward myself. I began to photograph what I was living through, to avoid disappearing.

This is my story, my moments of doubt, pain, and fog, but also my glimpses of hope and the possibility of healing.
