Open Call
An online exhibition: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Kills
People with ME/CFS die every week, not only due to the illness itself but also due to denial of care and support. The deaths we hear about are only the tip of the iceberg; how many of us die alone, never to be heard of again?
One way we can raise awareness about death in the ME community is through our art. This open call is for everyone who is affected by ME, regardless of the severity of their illness.
The theme of the online group exhibition is, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis Kills, and it aims to capture the feelings and effect death has on our community, from the impact of those who have passed, to personal feelings and journeys of living in bodies that are failing us. We would love to see your interpretation of death in ME through your paintings, photographs, collages, poetry, or other artworks.
This exhibition will debut on our website on International ME/CFS Awareness Day, May 12, 2026. The last day to submit your art is April 12. You can submit one artwork per person; both new and previously made work is accepted. Our team will make the selections, and the chosen works will be revealed on our website on opening day.
We hope that, together, we can raise awareness of this matter of life and death.
